Meet WT
Our Leadership Team.
Jonathan wu
Managing director
Jono is the Managing Director of WT Compensation Lawyers and leads the firm’s people focussed and ‘Client First, Always’ vision. He heads up the firm’s Queensland Motor Vehicle and Public Liability practices and, being a born and bred Cairns local (and passionate Cowboys supporter), also frequently travels to Cairns to oversee the firm’s Far North Queensland practice. He fights every day to realise the firm’s mission of enriching the lives of our clients.
“Every day, the team at WT Compensation Lawyers fight against large insurance companies who have wronged our clients. We take great pride in achieving the absolute best outcomes for our clients and enriching their lives from day one”.
Jono is an experienced compensation lawyer and has practiced exclusively in injuries law his entire career, with his experience spanning across various prominent top tier injuries firms. He is recognised and celebrated by his clients for his genuinity, compassion and ability to build authentic relationships with his clients.
“My clients are incredibly inspiring and are the reason why we do what we do. I am always amazed when I first meet my clients that, despite their hardships, they are remarkably positive, resolute and absolutely inspirational. They make me proud to be a lawyer fighting for the underdog and motivate me to achieve the very best results for them.”
When he isn’t in the office leading the legal team, Jono can be found down at the boxing gym, at Burleigh Beach or Palm Cove when he is at the Cairns office.

Sinaumea taufao
director
Sinau is the co-founder and Director of WT Compensation Lawyers and is the Practice Leader for the firm’s Queensland Workers’ Compensation and Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) practices. He is a proud Samoan lawyer and passionate advocate for the pacific island community, who recognises that his community desperately lacks representation. Being raised in a close knit, big Samoan family in Ipswich that migrated from Samoa, he comes from “humble beginnings” and strives every day to give back to the community.
Sinau started his career at top tier international firm Minter Ellison before specialising in personal injuries law at a national specialist injuries firm. His time spent in corporate law affirmed his passion to fight for the underdog, as well as to educate and serve not only the pacific island but the wider community.
“There is a Samoan proverb “O le ala I le pule o le tautua” – The path to leadership is through service. Servant leadership for my clients has been the driving force behind my journey that has not only pushed me, but grounded me during the challenges that I’ve faced.”
Outside of the law, besides running around after his two sons Zion and Richard with his wife Katerina, Sinau is known to dust off the rugby boots for the Norths Eagles 5th grade reserve team in his attempt to return to his sporting glory days.
